A Brief History
In 1950, a group of industry minded plastering contractors from Seattle, Portland and Vancouver B.C. came together to explore the concept of forming an organization that would be beneficial to their business and that of the plastering industry. On December 12, 1950 the Northwest Plaster Bureau Inc. was established. A few years later the name was changed to the Northwest lath and Plaster Bureau Inc. in order to be more representative of the contractors' scopes of work. In April 1984, there was a consolidation of the plastering and drywall associations to one industry wide trade association, in order to better serve all facets of the work that the contractors performed. At that time the name was changed to the Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau.
